Choco Aperitivo

There's nothing like the cultural ritual that is aperitivo! A chance to relax after work or meet up with friends, this customary get-together is a sacred occasion for Italians. 

At a bar, at home or with family, what's important is sharing time with people who make you feel good without a care in the world. A classic aperitivo includes Spritz, crisps, focaccia bread, cold meats and cheese. But how about a more gourmet version to wow your guests?

Here are some innovative pairings for a truly decadent aperitivo that will surprise everyone!

1.    Taralli, cold meats, olives and... a bar of white chocolate with salted pistachios, almonds and hazelnuts. No one will expect to see chocolate on your table but wow, what delicious contrasts!  The flavour of this bar works perfectly with prosecco or champagne, and can be an original alternative to cheese!

2.    Pistachio—already sweet and salty itself—on your aperitivo table will make a lasting impression! For us at Venchi, pistachio never fails. For your next happy hour, we recommend pairing either an individual pistachio chocolate or a bar of Chocoviar Pistachio cut into pieces on your chopping board with Parmesan cheese.

5.    Parmesan and dark chocolate: the perfect pairing for food lovers. Melt a bar of 60 of 75% dark chocolate in a Bain Marie then sprinkle shavings of Parmesan cheese into the melted chocolate. Leave to cool in the fridge so that it solidifies, then serve to your guests!
